Travel Summary has one goal: helping readers make better decisions with their miles, points and money. This page explains how that works in practice.
Independence
- No sponsored posts. Nobody pays to appear here or to influence what I write.
- No affiliate or referral links. I don’t earn anything when you apply for a card or book a hotel through a link on this site.
- No business relationship with any bank, airline or hotel.
- If I ever accept a hosted or discounted stay, the review will say so at the very top.
How reviews are done
Hotel and airline reviews come from stays and flights I booked myself, usually with points. Each review says how it was booked, what it cost, and what elite status I had, because all of that changes the experience. Photos are my own unless a caption says otherwise.
Sources and fact-checking
Facts about programs and cards come from the bank, airline or hotel first. For credit card application rules and bank policies, I find the most up-to-date information available online and from my own experience. Guides list their sources and the date they were last checked.
Updates and corrections
- When something changes, I add a clearly dated update (for example, “Update, October 2026”) instead of silently rewriting the original post.
- Guides carry a “last updated” line and a changelog at the bottom.
- Posts that are no longer useful are retired and redirected to the closest current page.
- If you spot a mistake, let me know through the contact form and I’ll fix it and note the correction.
