Card benefits change often, and this page may be out of date by the time you read it. Always check the bank’s page and your card’s guide to benefits for the current terms before you rely on a benefit.

The Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier is Barclays’ newest and most expensive Wyndham card, launched June 17, 2026: a $395 annual fee, 8x at Hotels by Wyndham, 30,000 bonus points every anniversary, automatic Diamond status, and a set of statement credits for Wyndham hotels, streaming, meal delivery and a wholesale club membership.

Barclays markets it as over $400 a year in benefits, and some of them really are close to cash. Below is how it earns, what each credit actually takes, what’s missing, Barclays’ approval quirks, and my verdict on whether it beats the $95 Earner Plus.

Wyndham Earner Premier at a glance

  • Annual fee: $395
  • Current public offer: Up to 120,000 points: 90,000 after $6,000 in purchases and paying the annual fee in the first 120 days, plus 30,000 after $750 at Hotels by Wyndham in the first 180 days (as of October 14, 2026, per Doctor of Credit)
  • Is it the best ever?: It’s the launch offer. The card came out June 17, 2026 with this same 120,000-point bonus, so there’s no past offer to compare it with yet. Timeshare down payments don’t count toward the spend.
  • Foreign transaction fee: None
  • Best for: People who stay at Wyndham hotels several times a year and already pay for streaming and a Costco, Sam’s Club or BJ’s membership, so the credits are close to cash.
  • Skip it if: You’d mostly stay at Super 8, Days Inn or La Quinta (they don’t count for the $100 hotel credit), or the anniversary points wouldn’t get used. The $95 Earner Plus does most of the job.

Barclays’ terms put Wyndham free nights at 5,000 to 45,000 points per bedroom, and this card cuts that by 25% (Barclays says from 3,750 points). Points Payback statement credits are only worth about a third of a cent per point, per Doctor of Credit, so free nights are the way to use them.

Credits and how to use them

Barclays markets these as over $400 a year in value. All of them reset on January 1, so a new cardholder can use each one twice in the first 12 months.

Status and other perks

  • Automatic Wyndham Rewards Diamond status, Wyndham’s top tier, with suite upgrades (when available), a welcome amenity at select hotels, and more.
  • What’s Wyndham Rewards Insider? It’s Wyndham’s paid subscription ($95 a year) for extra member discounts and faster earning. The card includes it for as long as the account is open; it ends right away if you close or downgrade the card.
  • Redeem 25% fewer points for free nights.
  • A cardmember discount on Wyndham’s standard rate at participating hotels.
  • Doctor of Credit and Wyndham’s launch release also list National Car Rental Emerald Club Executive status, a 15% discount on buying Wyndham points, and points that don’t expire while you hold the card. Barclays’ card page doesn’t mention them, so confirm before relying on them.

This is a Visa Signature card, but Barclays’ page lists no travel or purchase insurance, so I wouldn’t count on any. For a $395 card, that’s a real gap.

For how this compares with other cards, see my card travel benefits comparison.

Application rules for this card

  • Barclays’ offer terms commonly use lifetime-style wording (no bonus if you’ve previously had the card), but it hasn’t been strictly enforced; about 6 months after closing the same card is the usual practice (details). The card page doesn’t say whether holding another Wyndham Earner card blocks this bonus.
  • Barclays is sensitive to recent accounts: there’s an unofficial 6/24 (6 or more new cards from any bank in 24 months), not consistently enforced, and roughly one new Barclays card every 6 months is the norm (per Doctor of Credit’s data points).
  • Using the Barclays cards you already have helps; long-dormant ones reportedly hurt. Barclays almost always pulls TransUnion.

The full rules for every bank are in my credit card application rules guide.

My take

A $395 fee, but the 30,000 anniversary points are worth about $300 in my eyes, which makes it more like a $95 card, the same as the Earner Plus. If you’d also use the streaming and wholesale club credits anyway, that’s another $165 back, and the card pays you to keep it.

Compared with the Earner Plus ($95, 6x at Wyndham, 15,000 anniversary points, Diamond only in the first year), the Premier gets you 15,000 more points, permanent Diamond and the credits for $300 more. That’s a good trade only if you’ll really use the credits and the points.

The bonus is strong for a hotel card, but $6,000 in 120 days plus $750 at Wyndham is a lot of spend for points that are mostly useful at Wyndham hotels.

The catch

The $100 hotel credit only works at Wyndham’s upscale brands, which are much rarer than the Super 8s, Days Inns and La Quintas most people picture. The Vacasa vacation-rental partnership that made Wyndham points so useful ended December 1, 2025, so the points are now mostly for Wyndham hotels themselves. There’s also no travel insurance at all on a $395 card.

The meal delivery credit needs an order every month and the hotel credit needs a stay at the right brand. Those only help if you already spend there, and Barclays, like other banks with these kinds of credits, is counting on people forgetting to use them.

Keep it after year one?

The fee to me is $395 minus the 30,000 anniversary points (about $300), which equals $95, and if you already pay for streaming and a warehouse club, the $165 in those credits takes it below zero. If you’ll redeem the points every year, keep it. If not, Barclays lets you downgrade to a different Wyndham card (its own terms mention it), and the $95 Earner Plus or the no-fee Earner is where I’d go, though your Insider membership ends when you do.

Offer history

The card launched June 17, 2026, and 120,000 points is the only public offer so far.

Quick Answers

What is the Wyndham Earner Premier annual fee?

$395 a year as of October 2026, and it isn’t waived the first year. The bonus also requires paying the fee within the first 120 days.

What is the current Wyndham Earner Premier bonus?

As of October 14, 2026 it’s up to 120,000 points: 90,000 after $6,000 in purchases and paying the annual fee in 120 days, plus 30,000 after $750 at Hotels by Wyndham in 180 days.

Does the $100 Wyndham credit work at Super 8 or La Quinta?

No. Barclays limits it to Wyndham, Wyndham Grand, Dolce, Trademark Collection and Registry Collection hotels, based on the hotel’s merchant code.

Are the Wyndham Earner Premier credits calendar-year or anniversary?

Calendar year. The hotel, streaming, wholesale club and meal delivery credits all reset on January 1, so a new cardholder can use them twice in the first 12 months.

Can I still use Wyndham points for Vacasa rentals?

No. The Wyndham and Vacasa partnership ended December 1, 2025, so Wyndham points are now mostly for Wyndham hotels.
