The SoFi Unlimited 2% Credit Card is a no-annual-fee World Elite Mastercard that earns 2 points per dollar on everything, worth 1 cent each (2% back) when you redeem them as a statement credit or into a SoFi account, plus 3% on trips booked through SoFi Travel.
It also has no foreign transaction fees and up to $1,000 a year of cell phone protection, which makes it better than it first looks. The catch is getting it: SoFi says it’s currently invite-only. Below is how it earns, what’s covered, the bonus, and my verdict.
SoFi 2% card at a glance
- Annual fee: $0
- Current public offer: $200 after $1,500 in purchases in the first 3 months, only through Credit Karma’s link (as of October 14, 2026, per Doctor of Credit)
- Is it the best ever?: As far as I’ve tracked, $200 is the best this card gets. SoFi’s own page shows no bonus and says the card is currently invite-only, and Frequent Miler lists no offer, so the Credit Karma link may be the only way in.
- Foreign transaction fee: None
- Best for: SoFi members (or anyone who gets an invite) who want a no-fee 2% card that also works abroad without foreign fees and covers their phone.
- Skip it if: You can’t get an invite or the Credit Karma offer, or you want transferable points; a Citi Double Cash or Wells Fargo Active Cash is easier to get.
- Bank’s page: SoFi credit cards on sofi.com

How it earns
| Category | Rate | Caps and fine print |
|---|---|---|
| SoFi Travel bookings | 3% | Trips booked through SoFi Travel |
| Everything else | 2% | No cap; returns and reversed transactions don’t earn |
Points are worth 1 cent each when redeemed to the SoFi credit card account (a statement credit), SoFi Checking or Savings, SoFi Active or Automated Invest, a SoFi personal or student loan, or SoFi Travel purchases, so you don’t strictly need other SoFi accounts to get 2%. No caps, rotating categories or redemption minimums.
Perks

- Mastercard ID Theft Protection (registration required) and zero fraud liability.
- Eligibility check is a soft pull; the hard pull only happens if you’re approved. Credit lines start at $500.

Application rules for this card
- SoFi says the Unlimited 2% card is currently invite-only: you apply with a mail or digital offer code, or (per Doctor of Credit) through Credit Karma’s $200 link. Without an invite, SoFi only takes open applications for its Everyday Cash Rewards card.
- SoFi checks eligibility with a soft pull and only does a hard pull if you’re approved. Like any personal card, it counts toward Chase’s 5/24 rule.
The full rules for every bank are in my credit card application rules guide.
My take
Another 2% card, but a better one than I expected: no foreign transaction fees and up to $1,000 a year of phone protection are things most 2% cards don’t have. The real fee is zero, so it’s a fine catch-all if you can get it.
The bonus only exists through Credit Karma, and SoFi now says the card is invite-only, so for most people it’s a card you take when the offer shows up rather than one you go out and apply for.
Yes if you use SoFi; otherwise a Citi Double Cash or Wells Fargo Active Cash does the same 2% job and is easier to get, though both charge foreign transaction fees.
The catch
You can’t just apply: the card is invite-only on SoFi’s site, and the $200 bonus depends on the Credit Karma link. SoFi’s points are worth 1 cent at most, so there’s no upside beyond 2%.
No rental car or travel insurance is listed, and the phone protection’s deductible isn’t stated on SoFi’s page, so check the guide to benefits before counting on it.
Keep it after year one?
The fee is $0, so the real fee is $0. Keep it if you use SoFi or travel abroad (no foreign fees); otherwise a Citi Double Cash does the same job, but there’s no reason to close a free card that ages your credit history.
