Card benefits change often, and this page may be out of date by the time you read it. Always check the bank’s page and your card’s guide to benefits for the current terms before you rely on a benefit.

The Mastercard Black Card is Luxury Card’s metal card, issued by Barclays: a $699 annual fee, a $200 airline credit, a $100 dining credit, Priority Pass Select with unlimited guests, and points worth 2 cents each toward airfare or 1.5 cents as cash back.

Its points don’t transfer anywhere and it earns just 1x on almost everything, so the card lives or dies on its bonus and its credits. Below is how it earns, what each credit takes, the insurance in Luxury Card’s own words, the Barclays rules, and my verdict.

Luxury Card Black at a glance

  • Annual fee: $699; $249 for each authorized user
  • Current public offer: 75,000 points after $6,000 in purchases and paying the $699 annual fee, both within the first 90 days (as of October 14, 2026, per Doctor of Credit)
  • Is it the best ever?: Yes, as far as I know. Doctor of Credit added it on October 5, 2026 and had assumed the card was no longer getting bonuses. The 75,000 points are worth $1,500 toward airfare booked through Luxury Card, or $1,125 as cash back.
  • Foreign transaction fee: None
  • Best for: Someone who wants one big bonus and two easy credits, will take guests into Priority Pass lounges, and plans to cancel before the second fee.
  • Skip it if: You want points that transfer to airlines and hotels, or a card worth keeping long term. The Venture X does more for $395.

How it earns

CategoryRateCaps and fine print
Airfare and hotels booked through LuxuryCardTravel.com2xNo cap. Airfare and hotels booked elsewhere earn 1x.
Everything else1xNo cap.

Points are worth 2 cents each toward airfare (50,000 points = $1,000 in airfare, per Luxury Card) or 1.5 cents as cash back, with no blackout dates and no expiration. They don’t transfer to any airline or hotel program, so that 2 cents is the ceiling, which makes the 1x everyday rate effectively 2% at best.

Credits and how to use them

Luxury Card calls these “benefits that work without the work,” and for the two big credits that’s mostly fair.

CreditAmountHow oftenWhere / howThe catch
Airline creditUp to $200Annual (Luxury Card doesn’t say calendar or anniversary year)Statement credits on flight-related purchases with any airline: tickets, bag fees, upgrades and moreTickets count, so it’s close to cash for anyone who flies. If it turns out to be calendar-year, you could use it twice in your first 12 months, but I couldn’t confirm that.
Dining creditUp to $100Annual (calendar year per AwardWallet)Statement credits at qualified restaurants worldwide; no enrollmentEasy. Food delivery may not qualify.

Peacock$3 off a monthMonthly, through 12/31/2027Subscribe to Peacock Premium or Premium Plus with the card (a Mastercard offer)Only if you already pay for Peacock.
Lyft$5 a monthMonthly, through 1/31/2027Enroll the card in the Lyft app; the credit is added after 3 paid rides in a calendar monthThree rides a month for $5 is a lot to ask.

Lounges and other perks

  • Priority Pass Select: 1,800+ airport lounges, plus participating airport restaurants and mini-suites, with unlimited visits for you and your guests (per Luxury Card’s page). Authorized users cost $249 each.
  • What’s Luxury Card Travel? It’s Luxury Card’s own booking site for flights, hotels and cars. Hotel bookings at 3,000+ luxury properties come with perks like daily breakfast for two, a room upgrade at check-in when available, early check-in and late check-out, and resort credits (Luxury Card puts the average at $750 per stay).
  • Luxury Card Concierge, 24/7 by phone, email, text or chat, for travel planning, dinner reservations, event tickets and gifts.
  • Mastercard World Elite extras such as Priceless Golf, Mastercard ID Theft Protection and Travel Assistance when you’re 50+ miles from home.
  • A 22-gram stainless steel card, which is a big part of what you’re paying for.

Insurance and protections

BenefitWhat the bank says
Trip cancellation / interruptionUp to $5,000 per insured person for non-refundable trip costs, secondary coverage
One-way and award tickets: One-ways aren’t covered: Luxury Card’s page says it covers a roundtrip purchase made with the card. The page doesn’t say whether award tickets count, and the full guide to benefits is only sent after approval, so I’d assume only fares paid with the card.
Trip delayNone listed
Baggage delayUp to $100 a day for up to 3 days after a delay of more than 4 hours at your destination (not at home)
One-way and award tickets: Not stated on Luxury Card’s page; the guide to benefits is only sent after approval, so I couldn’t confirm one-way or award ticket rules.
Lost luggageNone listed
Auto rental collision damage waiverSecondary (MasterRental), when the whole rental is paid with the card and you decline the agency’s coverage
Travel accident insuranceUp to $250,000 when the entire fare is charged to the card
Cell phone protectionRepair or replacement for damage or theft when you pay your monthly phone bill with the card (up to $1,000 a year per AwardWallet; Luxury Card’s page gives no amount)

Coverage amounts come from Luxury Card’s Black Card page (checked October 14, 2026) unless noted. For a $699 card it’s thin: no trip delay, no lost luggage, and the rental coverage is secondary.

Application rules for this card

  • The card is issued by Barclays. The terms say the bonus can only be earned once and you may not be eligible if you “currently have or previously had an account with us in this program”; in practice Barclays hasn’t strictly enforced that wording (details).
  • Barclays is sensitive to recent accounts: there’s an unofficial 6/24 (6 or more new cards from any bank in 24 months), not consistently enforced, and roughly one new Barclays card every 6 months is the norm (per Doctor of Credit’s data points).
  • The terms also allow Barclays to deny the bonus if it suspects the account is being opened mainly for rewards, so I wouldn’t open and close it in a hurry. Barclays almost always pulls TransUnion.

The full rules for every bank are in my credit card application rules guide.

My take

A $699 fee, but the $200 airline credit (tickets count) and the $100 dining credit are both easy, which makes it more like a $399 card in my eyes. That’s still more than a Venture X, which costs $395 and gives back roughly that much in its $300 travel credit and 10,000 anniversary miles, plus points that transfer to airlines.

Where it wins: Priority Pass with unlimited guests, which beats the two guests on the Sapphire Reserve and the paid guests on the Venture X, and the bonus. 75,000 points for $6,000 of spend is $1,500 toward airfare, which is a lot for a fixed-value card.

So in my eyes it’s a one-year card: take the bonus, use both credits, bring friends into the lounges, and don’t pay the second fee.

The catch

The fee is enormous for a card with no transfer partners and 1x on almost everything. After the first year, there’s nothing here that the Venture X doesn’t do for $395, other than the metal and the unlimited lounge guests. The insurance is thin for the price (no trip delay, no lost luggage, secondary rental coverage).

The Peacock and Lyft extras only help if you already pay for Peacock or take three Lyft rides a month, and Luxury Card, like other banks with small monthly credits, is counting on most people never using them.

Keep it after year one?

The fee to me is $699 minus the $200 airline credit and the $100 dining credit, which is $399 a year for unlimited Priority Pass guests and a heavy card. Unless you take several guests into lounges every year, I wouldn’t keep it: take the bonus, use the credits, and cancel before the second annual fee.

Offer history

Doctor of Credit added the 75,000-point offer on October 5, 2026; I don’t have a record of earlier public bonuses on this card.

Quick Answers

What is the Mastercard Black Card annual fee?

$699 a year as of October 2026, plus $249 for each authorized user. It isn’t waived the first year, and the bonus requires paying it within 90 days.

What is the current Mastercard Black Card bonus?

As of October 14, 2026 it’s 75,000 points after $6,000 in purchases and paying the annual fee, both within the first 90 days. That’s $1,500 toward airfare through Luxury Card, or $1,125 as cash back.

Do Luxury Card points transfer to airlines?

No. They’re worth 2 cents each toward airfare booked through Luxury Card or 1.5 cents as cash back, and that’s it.

Can I bring guests into Priority Pass lounges with the Black Card?

Yes. Luxury Card’s page says the Priority Pass Select membership includes unlimited visits for you and your guests, plus participating airport restaurants.

Is the Mastercard Black Card worth keeping?

Not for most people. After the $200 airline and $100 dining credits it still costs about $399 a year, more than a Venture X that offsets most of its fee and earns transferable miles.
