The AT&T Points Plus is a no-fee Citi card that was revamped in April 2026: a $20 statement credit every billing cycle you spend $1,000 or more, 3x on gas and EV charging, 2x at grocery stores and on AT&T, and no foreign transaction fees.
You don’t need to be an AT&T customer for the bonus or the $20 credit; AT&T customers also get $10 off per wireless line and $10 off internet each month. Below is how it earns, what the credit is really worth, the rules, and my verdict.
Citi AT&T Points Plus at a glance
- Annual fee: $0; no authorized user fee
- Current public offer: $250 statement credit after $500 in purchases in the first 3 months per Doctor of Credit; Frequent Miler lists a $200 statement credit. Check which your application page shows. (as of October 14, 2026, per Doctor of Credit)
- Is it the best ever?: Yes, as far as I know: $250 for $500 of spend is the best this card has offered (it was $100 before the April 2026 revamp).
- Foreign transaction fee: None
- Best for: Anyone who wants an easy $250 bonus on a no-fee card, and people who spend about $1,000 a month and will put that spend on this card to collect the $20 credit, especially AT&T customers.
- Skip it if: You won’t put $1,000 a month on it; without the credit it’s an ordinary 3x gas, 2x grocery card.

How it earns
| Category | Rate | Caps and fine print |
|---|---|---|
| Gas and EV charging stations | 3x | No cap |
| Grocery stores | 2x | No cap |
| AT&T products and services, including bill payment | 2x | No cap |

Credits and how to use them
| Credit | Amount | How often | Where / how | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spend credit | $20 | Each billing cycle, up to $240 a year | Spend $1,000 or more in net purchases in the billing cycle | $1,000 a cycle is $12,000 a year. Balance transfers, cash advances and cash-like transactions don’t count. It’s worth an extra 2% on the first $1,000 each cycle, and nothing above that. |
| AT&T wireless discount | $10 per line a month | Monthly | AT&T wireless customers enrolled in AutoPay and paperless billing with this card | Provided by AT&T, not Citi; AT&T employees, retirees and some customers are excluded. |
| AT&T internet discount | $10 a month ($5 for Internet Air) | Monthly | Eligible AT&T internet with AutoPay and paperless billing on this card | Provided by AT&T; takes up to 3 bills to start. |
Other perks
- No foreign transaction fees (added in April 2026), so it works abroad.
- No authorized user fee.
- Citi Entertainment presales, Citi Travel, Shop with Points, a free FICO score, Citi Quick Lock and Mastercard ID Theft Protection.

Citi’s page lists no travel or purchase protections for this card.

Transfer partners
The card earns ThankYou points. On their own they transfer only to a few partners at reduced ratios (JetBlue and Wyndham at 1:0.7 and Choice at 1:1.4 since July 2025, per AwardWallet), but combined with a Strata Premier or Strata Elite in the same ThankYou account they transfer at that card’s ratios (per Frequent Miler). Ratios for every partner are in my transfer partners guide.
Application rules for this card
- The bonus isn’t available if you’ve received an AT&T Points Plus bonus in the last 48 months, and Citi issues only one AT&T Points Plus account per person, so if you already have one (including by product change) you can’t open another.
- Citi’s velocity rules apply: generally 1 Citi application every 8 days and no more than 2 in 65 days (Citi rules).
The full rules for every bank are in my credit card application rules guide.
My take
No fee, so the real fee is $0, and $250 for $500 of spend is one of the easiest bonuses out there, in my eyes. You don’t need AT&T service to get it.
The $20 credit is the interesting part: if you’d spend $1,000 a month anyway, it’s an extra 2% on that spend, which beats most 2% cards on the first $1,000. Above $1,000 a cycle, the extra spend only earns 1x (or 2x/3x in the bonus categories), so put the rest on a better card. AT&T customers get the bill discounts on top.
The catch
The $20 credit needs $1,000 of purchases every single billing cycle; miss it by a dollar and you get nothing that month. 2x grocery and 3x gas are ordinary, and there’s no travel or purchase protection.
Citi only issues one of these per person, and its points barely transfer on their own. Citi, like other banks with spend-based credits, counts on people missing the threshold some months.
Keep it after year one?
There’s no fee, so keep it if you’ll hit $1,000 a cycle on it or you’re an AT&T customer using the bill discounts. Otherwise there’s no cost to leaving it in a drawer, though Citi may close long-inactive accounts.

No. Anyone can apply, and the bonus and the $20 spend credit don’t require AT&T service. Only the $10 wireless and internet bill discounts need AT&T.
