The Chase Aer Lingus Visa Signature is a $95 card that earns Avios in Aer Lingus AerClub, with 2,500 Avios every anniversary, priority boarding on Aer Lingus flights between the U.S. and Ireland, and an economy companion ticket on those routes after $30,000 of spend in a calendar year.
Avios move freely between Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, Qatar Airways and Finnair, so this is the third of Chase’s Avios cards and effectively a third shot at the same bonus. Aer Lingus awards from the East Coast to Dublin are among the cheapest ways across the Atlantic. Below is how it earns, what the perks take, and my verdict.
Chase Aer Lingus at a glance
- Annual fee: $95
- Current public offer: 90,000 Avios after $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months (as of October 14, 2026, per Frequent Miler)
- Is it the best ever?: No. It was 100,000 Avios in 2025. Chase’s own card page showed 75,000 on October 14, 2026, so the 90,000 offer may depend on the link you apply through.
- Foreign transaction fee: None
- Best for: People who want another big pile of Avios, especially for Aer Lingus flights to Dublin or Iberia to Spain, and anyone who flies Aer Lingus between the U.S. and Ireland often.
- Skip it if: You’re near 5/24 or have no plan for Avios. The ongoing perks only matter on Aer Lingus U.S.-Ireland flights.

How it earns
| Category | Rate | Caps and fine print |
|---|---|---|
| Flights bought directly from Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia or LEVEL | 3x | Direct purchases only. |
| Hotels booked direct with the hotel | 2x | Direct bookings only. |
| Everything else | 1x | Including other airlines and dining. |
Avios post to your AerClub account after each billing cycle. They don’t expire as long as you have activity in any 36-month period, and card purchases count (paying the annual fee doesn’t).
Credits and how to use them
Nothing here offsets the fee automatically; the companion ticket is the big one, and it needs a lot of spending.
| Credit | Amount | How often | Where / how | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Economy companion ticket | One companion seat, no taxes or fees | Once per calendar year | Spend $30,000 on the card in a calendar year; voucher emailed 4 to 6 weeks after the qualifying billing cycle; book by emailing Aer Lingus at least 30 days before departure | Economy only, paired with your own paid economy round trip, on Aer Lingus-operated flights directly between the U.S. and Ireland that start and end in the U.S. Valid 12 months and subject to availability. |
| Anniversary Avios | 2,500 Avios | Each anniversary year | Automatic, 6 to 8 weeks after the anniversary | — |
| DoorDash | 12 months of DashPass + $10 a quarter | Quarterly, through 12/31/2027 | Activate DashPass by 12/31/2027; $10 off one non-restaurant order each quarter | DashPass renews at the monthly rate after 12 months unless you cancel. |
Perks
- How the companion ticket works: after $30,000 of purchases in a calendar year, you get a voucher for a second economy seat when you buy your own economy round trip on Aer Lingus between the U.S. and Ireland. Unlike most companion tickets, the companion pays no taxes or fees, but you book it by email rather than online, at least 30 days ahead.
- Priority boarding for you and authorized users on Aer Lingus flights directly between the U.S. and Ireland, subject to availability; you show the card at the gate.
- No lounge access or free checked bags.
Insurance and protections
| Benefit | What the bank says |
|---|---|
| Baggage delay | Up to $100 a day for up to 3 days after a 6-hour delay (as listed on Chase’s page on October 13, 2026) One-way and award tickets: Likely yes to both: Chase’s Visa Signature guide to benefits (the one linked from the British Airways card) covers round-trip or one-way fares paid all or in part with the card or Chase rewards, but Chase’s Aer Lingus page doesn’t link its own guide, so I couldn’t confirm it for this card. |
| Lost luggage | Up to $3,000 per covered traveler (as listed on Chase’s page on October 13, 2026) One-way and award tickets: Likely yes to both, same caveat as baggage delay. |
| Trip delay / trip cancellation | Not listed |
| Auto rental coverage | Not listed on the card page |
| Purchase protection | 120 days, up to $500 per item |
| Extended warranty | Adds one year to eligible warranties of three years or less |
These amounts were listed on Chase’s Aer Lingus page when I checked it on October 13, 2026; on October 14 the page only showed a “Travel & purchase protection” heading without details, so check your guide to benefits before relying on them.

Transfer partners
Avios are one currency shared by several airlines. You can move them 1:1 between Aer Lingus AerClub and British Airways Club, Iberia Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club and Finnair Plus, so you can book wherever the price is lowest: Aer Lingus to Dublin, Iberia business class to Madrid, Qatar Qsuites, or short American and Alaska flights through British Airways. Chase Ultimate Rewards points also transfer to Aer Lingus, British Airways and Iberia; ratios for every bank are in my transfer partners guide.
Application rules for this card
- The card isn’t available if you have it now, or if you received a new cardmember bonus on this card in the last 24 months (Chase’s offer terms, checked October 14, 2026). The rule is per card, so having the British Airways or Iberia card doesn’t block this bonus.
- Chase’s 5/24 rule applies: you’ll be denied if you’ve opened 5 or more personal cards from any bank in the last 24 months.
The full rules for every bank are in my credit card application rules guide.
My take
A $95 fee with nothing easy to offset it, so the real fee is $95 in my eyes, and the bonus is the reason to get it. Since Avios move freely between programs, 90,000 Aer Lingus Avios are as good as British Airways or Iberia Avios, and Aer Lingus off-peak awards from the East Coast to Dublin are among the cheapest transatlantic awards in economy and business.
The companion ticket is better than it sounds because the companion pays no taxes or fees, but it needs $30,000 of spend on a card that earns 1x on most purchases and only works in economy between the U.S. and Ireland.
In any case, I personally would hate to sign up at 90,000 Avios when 100,000 was available in the past.
The catch
Every ongoing perk (the companion ticket and priority boarding) only works on Aer Lingus flights between the U.S. and Ireland, and the companion ticket is economy only and booked by email. Outside those routes, this is a 1x card with a $95 fee.
Chase doesn’t currently spell out the insurance on the card page, and there’s no trip delay or cancellation coverage listed, so don’t pick this card for protections.
Keep it after year one?
The fee to me is $95 minus nothing easy, which equals $95. For most people I would cancel or sock-drawer it after the first year; keep it only if you fly Aer Lingus to Ireland often and will spend $30,000 a year for the companion ticket.

$95 a year as of October 2026. It isn’t waived the first year.
As of October 14, 2026 Frequent Miler lists 90,000 Avios after $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months, while Chase’s own page showed 75,000, so the offer depends on the link. It was 100,000 Avios in 2025.

Yes. Each card’s bonus rule only looks at that card, but each one uses a slot under Chase’s 5/24 rule.
