Get 10% off Reward Nights with Hyatt through October 31, 2016

Hyatt has a great new promotion that allows Hyatt Credit Card holders to get 10% off points spent for various items through October 31, 2016. You can get the 10% off for essentially anything you’d really want to use Hyatt points for, including award stays, points + cash stays, suite upgrades, and dining/spa activities (though I don’t recommend you use them for this).

If you planned to stay on a Hyatt Award in the next few months, this is a fantastic deal that allows you to save points for doing nothing. This will work perfectly for me as I planned to stay at a Category 7 property as part of my huge honeymoon trip.

As a reminder, here is the current Hyatt award chart along with the 10% off prices so you can see how much you stand to save.

Hyatt 10% Off

You obviously stand to save more in higher categories. For example, my 5 night stay at the Park Hyatt Paris will now save me 15,000 points…and I didn’t even have to do anything except register!

Important Details:

  1. Register by August 31, 2016
  2. Stay by October 31, 2016
  3. You must have the Hyatt Credit Card to be eligible for this promotion
  4. There don’t seem to be any limits
  5. You DO NOT need to cancel and re-book existing reservations
  6. If you don’t have the card yet, you can get it now and still be eligible as long as you register in time

The Chase Hyatt Credit Card is a good card to get. You get 2 free nights at any Hyatt in the world (I used mine at the Park Hyatt Sydney), plus instant Platinum status (which isn’t all that valuable). The thing that makes me keep the card is the annual free night certificate that can be used up to a Category 4 property. Note that there is an annual fee of $75 that I find to be reasonable.

  1. I phoned into Hyatt, to ask if this applies to existing Guest of Honor reservations. First call disconnected, 2nd one said it does apply to existing reservations. Went to consult a manager about the GoH part. They said it only applies if YOU are staying there.

  2. Anyone discovered if it applies to previously booked reservations that will end up occurring prior to the Oct 31st deadline?
